I am trying to access a web site for school, which is: http://dubai-award.dm.gov.ae/winner96htm... but it will not populate, or I cannot access it. In seeking the access it was recommended that I provide the information for the guideance answer back to my email address, and they need to know the kind of server that my email provider has, which are one of the three, P03, IMPA, or STMP? Reply:In order to use a separate email program, such as Outlook, Outlook Express, or Thunderbird, with Yahoo Mail you need to pay for Yahoo Mail Plus. It is also required when you try to transfer the mail using smtp or pop3 to another online email. When you do you can set the servers as follows:
Incoming (pop3) - plus.pop.mail.yahoo.com
Outgoing (smtp) - plus.smtp.mail.yahoo.com

I had this happen to me a few times. Ususally it is because your email software is having a problem communicating over the internet to retrieve your email from email service providers like Hotmail or Yahoo. These sites are where your email "lives" and where your email software is trying to retrieve them from. It's kind of like picking up a phone and wanting to call a friend, but you don't dial the correct number to connect to your friend. To have a connection you need to have the correct phone number to call and talk to your friend. I'm guessing you are using "Outlook" and this error message comes up. When you tried setting up your email, it requested your POP3 Server. This is when your ISP information needed to be entered. More then likely you may had typed in the wrong information. To correct this problem It only takes about 2 minutes to go into your email program and make one or two clicks to correct it. Since I don't know your ISP provider (who you have your Internet service through) I can' give you exactly what to type in because each ISP has a different name and information to type in.
The short answer is to call your ISP provider and ask to speak to a tech over the phone because you are having a problem with your email service. The person you talk with will walk you step by step to correct your problem. Its really easy to correct, but make sure you write down what your tech tells you to enter in. That way you can add other email accounts to Outlook and not have to go through all this again.
PS- Since you are spending the time talking to a tech, try finding out if your ISP has a security suite that you can download from their site. Most ISP include Security Suites (Virus protection, Etc) that are provided to you at no additional cost because you are a customer. The deal is, that you have to ask or they won't tell- The reason is because the software is licensed and the ISP gets invoiced for everytime its downloaded.

Hohwever, it is probably just the glitch. Click on sent mail and see if a copy of it is in there.

Am logged onto friend's wireless system.Can receive email but not send.Need Yahoo's Outgoing Mail Server SMTP.
I am visiting in Juneau from Seattle. I use MS Office 2003 Outlook and my carrier is Comcast. I am logged into my sister's wireless system (cable) and typed in her WEP key and am receiving all my emails but cannot send any. A friend said I needed to go in and change my current Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) to that of my sister's. I tried to find that out yesterday but read where that information is not available. Can you help me? I will be here in Juneau for another 2 wees and desperately need to be able to send e-mails without having to go to my sister's computer.

In a nutshell, Outlook needs to be able to connect to a POP3 server to receive your email. To send email, it needs to connect to an SMTP server. Unfortunately, many service providers are now blocking access to remote SMTP servers (an email server not on their network) and charging a premium fee for access to it. Additionally, to help combat SPAM, some service providers are blocking access to their SMTP servers unless you are on their network.
So, if at home, you have Comcast as your email host, and you are in Juneau, and Comcast blocks access to their SMTP server from remote networks, you won't be able to send email. You can check to see if Comcast has a "Webmail" site that allows you to log into a web site they host, to send emails from their account.

Start --%26gt; Control Panel
Click Switch to Classic View
Double-click Internet options
Click programs
Under the e-mail pull-down menu, choose the program you use for e-mail
Click OK
Close the control panel window
Restart the computer
You should now be able to send e-mail via Word.
